about meI'm Tony. I'm 29 years old and I just spent a year on sabbatical in Vermont. As you might have noticed, I like to design costumes, draw, and train as a circus aerialist. I do web design among other technical jobs, and I used to I do mission operations for a NASA satellite. I look a sabbatical in Vermont to relax and train more seriously as an aerialist. Before I moved to California, I spent a year teaching English in mainland China's Anhui province, and I speak a little Mandarin. I need to keep practicing! On February 12, 2002, I hurt my shoulder doing my aerialist thing. I eventually needed surgery for a torn rotator cuff. After lots of rehab and training, I learned to strengthen and rehabilitate my shoulders and am able to do a bit of trapeze again. I missed it. More information than you could ever possibly need. |
about this siteI originally started ivorysanctuary.com as a place to showcase some of my costumes, drawings, and aerial work. For a long time I mostly gave people links to specific pages, and anyone who went to http://www.ivorysanctuary.com would get this page. I chose the name in about 30 seconds while I was trying to jump on a special deal on the internet. More recently, I decided to open this page up for public access. I'm getting over some of my shyness about having pictures of myself in funny costumes available to the general public. I've also started an online journal; among other things I hoped to use it to get support and feedback as I recovered from my shoulder injury and progress toward studying and performing trapeze again. I didn't write about my shoulder injury in the journal much, but it's been a great chronicle of the last couple of years, and I will also use it as a travel blog during my trek across the country. Thanks for stopping by! |
